The 4th Convocation of St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Bannimantap, Mysuru will be held on 28th September 2018(Friday) at the College Indoor Stadium. The ceremony will start at 10 am, Honorable Justice V. Gopala Gowda, Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India has consented to be the Chief Guest. The Convocation Ceremony will be presided over by Most. Rev. Dr. K. A William, Bishop of Mysore Diocese and the Chairman of Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES). Prof. Aisha M. sheriff, Honorable Vice-Chancellor(in charge), the University of Mysore(in charge) will be the guest of honour.
During the Convocation, 113 male and 142 female graduating candidates from the UG and 56 male and 76 female candidates from the PG will be awarded with the academic degree. A total of 07 Under Graduate and 08 Post Graduate candidates will be honored with stream wise Gold Medals and 29 Under Graduates will be honored with Gold Medals based on the subjects.
All the eligible graduating students of the 2014 batch are informed to follow the designated dress code, instructions and to be present in the venue within the stipulated time. Students who have registered and those yet to register their names are advised to report at the registration counter (near the PG block) at 8.30am to collect the convocation stole and the seat numbers.
Msgr.Rev. Leslie Moras, the Episcopal Vicar of Educational Institutions and the Health Care Management (MDES), Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, the Secretary of the MDES, Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, the Rector and Manager of the College, , Dr. Ruth Shanthakumari, the Principal, and Dr. Alphonsus D’Souza, the Controller of Examinations will be present during this solemn occasion.
Prestigious cash awards, instituted in the name of Sir T.R.A. Thumboochetty, who was the Private Secretary to the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore will be awarded to the students securing the highest marks in Arts, Science, Commerce and Post-Graduation streams.
All the Alumni members and the well-wishers of the college are cordially invited to take part in the 4th Convocation. All are requested to be seated inside the hall by 09.50 a.m.
