The department was started on 1.7.2000 and the subject is linked with other optional disciplines of English, Journalism etc. The department has always been handled by a single teacher. Ms. Ashwini BP was the first faculty to handle the subject and later by Ms. Ambreen Afshan.
Achievement of the Department:
Furnished with well-equipped laboratory and ICT facilities, the department conducts regularly workshops and guest lectures on topics of relevance to the students. The students are also taken for field visits to have experience in real working environments.
The Department gives priority to cultivate the feelings of unity, amity and bonhomie among the students by holding team-building parties and counseling sessions.
Future Plan of action:
The department plans to start a Diploma programme for non-psychology students in the near future.
